Hello!

Welcome to my Research Writing Unit Plan website. This unit was made for a class of fourth and fifth grade students at a private Christian school in Michigan. 

​

In this unit, students will be incorporating what they are learning about in Social Studies (Slavery, Abolitionists, the Emancipation Proclamation, etc.) and use it as a starting point for a research essay. The bulk of the unit then focuses on gathering research through books, articles, and online resources and incorporating them into their essays. In the culminating phase, students will type their essays and add a title page and works cited page.
